4-18-38, formerly known as Tomato Special, is a high potassium product designed to provide luxurious levels of potassium to a variety of vegetable and fruit crops during peak demand, especially as yield goals increase.   It is formulated to be applied primarily through drip systems, or other specific site irrigation systems.  With a number of producers now surpassing the 40 pounds per plant with tomatoes, the need for potassium becomes intense.

Even in soils with high potassium levels, the amount being released from the soil during any 24 -72 hour period can be deficient.  4-18-38, applied through irrigation, will provide a potassium rich soil solution, helping to greatly reduce older leaf degradation as potassium is transported from older leaves to newer sinks, yellow shoulder, or other symptoms of potassium shortage.  In addition, with the increase in available potassium uptake the plant is able to produce fruit with very strong cellular integrity, thus providing improved shelf life and shipping characteristics.
